Invisalign in NYC — From a PracticeThat Actually Shows You the Results

If you’re searching for Invisalign in New York City, you’ve already noticed that everyone claims to be an expert. At Smile Pop, we let our 450+ five-star Google reviews make that case for us.

We’re a boutique orthodontic practice in NoMad, Manhattan, just steps from Madison Square Park and the Flatiron District, and Invisalign is one of the things we do exceptionally well. Not because we say so. Because our patients do.

What Makes Smile Pop DifferentFrom Other NYC Invisalign Providers

New York City has no shortage of dentists and orthodontists who offer Invisalign. Here’s what distinguishes Smile Pop:

You’re treated by an orthodontist, not a general dentist.

Invisalign can be offered by any licensed dentist. At Smile Pop, your treatment is designed and overseen by an orthodontist — a specialist who completed an additional two to three years of post-dental training focused exclusively on moving teeth and aligning bites. That distinction matters when your teeth are the thing being moved.

Your results are mapped out before treatment starts.

Before a single aligner is ordered, we use iTero digital scanning to create a precise 3D model of your teeth. You’ll see a virtual simulation of how your smile is expected to move — from start to finish — before you commit to anything. No guesswork. No surprises.

We keep appointments efficient and our schedule accessible.

We know you’re busy. Our NoMad location is designed around the reality of living and working in Manhattan. Appointments are typically 20–30 minutes for progress checks, and we work to schedule them at times that actually work for you.

People genuinely like coming here.

Browse our Google reviews and you’ll see a consistent theme: patients mention that this office doesn’t feel like a typical dental office. We’ve worked hard to make that true. Treatment should be something you look forward to, not dread.

Am I a Good Candidatefor Invisalign in NYC?

Invisalign has evolved dramatically over the past decade. Cases that once required braces can now often be treated effectively with clear aligners. That said, candidacy depends on your specific situation.

Invisalign tends to work well for mild to moderate crowding, spacing between teeth, overbites and underbites within a certain severity range, open bites, crossbites, and patients who had braces previously and have experienced relapse.

Invisalign may not be the right tool for very severe bite or skeletal discrepancies, complex extraction cases, or patients who are not yet fully done growing.

The honest answer is that the best way to know is a consultation. We’ll take a look, scan your teeth, and tell you directly whether Invisalign is the right approach — or whether a different option would serve you better. We do not oversell Invisalign. If it’s right for you, we’ll tell you. If it isn’t, we’ll tell you that too.

The Invisalign Process at SmilePop, Step by Step

Step 1: Consultation

Your Invisalign journey at Smile Pop starts with a no-pressure consultation. We’ll review your concerns, examine your bite and tooth alignment, and discuss your goals. If Invisalign is a good fit, we’ll take digital scans at this appointment or schedule a follow-up to do so.

Step 2: Digital Scan and Treatment Planning

We use iTero digital scanning — no goopy impressions. The scanner creates a precise 3D model of your teeth in minutes. From there, we use Invisalign’s ClinCheck software to design the movement of each tooth through your treatment. You’ll be able to see a projected end result before your aligners are ever made.

Step 3: Aligners Are Fabricated

Once you approve the treatment plan, Invisalign manufactures your custom aligner series. This typically takes two to three weeks. Each aligner in the series moves your teeth a small amount, and you’ll progress through the series over the course of your treatment.

Step 4: You Start Wearing Your Aligners

Aligners are worn 20–22 hours per day. You take them out to eat and drink anything other than plain water, and to brush and floss. Most patients find they can eat whatever they want — no restrictions — which is one of the biggest lifestyle differences compared to braces.

Step 5: Progress Check Appointments

You’ll come in every six to ten weeks for a quick progress check. These appointments are short — typically 20 to 30 minutes — and allow us to confirm that your teeth are tracking correctly and to refine the plan if needed.

Step 6: Refinements (When Needed)

Invisalign treatment sometimes includes a refinement phase — a second or modified set of aligners to fine-tune the result. Whether refinements are needed depends on how your teeth respond to treatment and the complexity of your case. One round of refinements is included in your treatment fee at Smile Pop.

Step 7: Retainers

When treatment is complete, you’ll transition to retainers. Teeth move throughout your life, and retainers are what keep your result stable. We’ll walk you through the retention plan at the end of treatment.

Timeline, Comfort, and theReality of Wearing Aligners

How long does Invisalign take?

At Smile Pop, comprehensive Invisalign treatment typically takes between 12 and 24 months. Cases on the simpler end tend to finish closer to 12 months. More complex cases may take closer to 18 to 24 months. We also offer short-term touch-up treatment that runs 3 to 5 months for patients with simpler alignment concerns.

Does Invisalign hurt?

“Hurt” is probably the wrong word. Most patients describe mild pressure or tightness when they switch to a new aligner, particularly in the first day or two. This is a sign the aligners are working. Over-the-counter pain relievers manage any discomfort for most people. By comparison to braces, the vast majority of patients find aligners much more comfortable.

Can I eat and drink normally?

Yes. That’s one of the most popular things about Invisalign. You remove your aligners to eat and drink (other than plain water), which means no food restrictions whatsoever. The only discipline required is making sure you’re wearing them for 20–22 hours a day.

How Much Does InvisalignCost at Smile Pop?

Comprehensive Invisalign treatment at Smile Pop is priced between $3,500 and $8,800, depending on the complexity of your case and the length of treatment. Touch-up treatment for minor concerns runs $3,200 to $4,200.

We offer in-house payment plans, FSA/HSA flexibility, and a payment-in-full discount. Most patients with orthodontic insurance benefits receive partial reimbursement even though Smile Pop is an out-of-network provider — and we do a benefits check for you before your consultation so you know what to expect.

Frequently Asked Questions AboutInvisalign in NYC

How much does Invisalign cost in NYC?

At Smile Pop, comprehensive Invisalign treatment is $3,500–$8,800. Touch-up cases (3–5 months) are $3,200–$4,200. We offer payment plans and accept FSA/HSA. Most patients with orthodontic insurance receive a partial benefit even though we’re out-of-network. See full pricing page.

How long does Invisalign take?

Comprehensive treatment at Smile Pop is typically 12–24 months. Shorter touch-up cases run 3–5 months.

Can I do Invisalign if I had braces before?

Yes. Relapse (teeth shifting after braces) is very common, and Invisalign is often an excellent option for correcting it — particularly for adults who want a discreet solution.

Does Smile Pop accept insurance for Invisalign?

Smile Pop is an out-of-network provider. However, most patients with orthodontic benefits can submit for reimbursement, and many receive a meaningful benefit. We run an orthodontic benefits check before your consultation so you know exactly what your plan covers.

What’s the difference between Invisalign and braces?

Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners. Braces use fixed brackets and wires. Invisalign is generally more comfortable, less noticeable, and lets you eat without restrictions. Smile Pop is a clear aligner practice, so we do not take on full braces cases. We do sometimes bond a bracket as a helper inside aligner treatment, when a tooth needs something a tray alone cannot give it. If your case truly calls for full braces, Dr. Courtney will tell you that at your consultation and point you toward the right person.
