The basics

What are Angel Aligners?

Angel Aligners are a clear aligner system made by Angelalign Technology Inc., a publicly listed company with 20+ years of experience and over one million cases treated worldwide. They are FDA-cleared for orthodontic use in the United States and available only through licensed orthodontic providers, not direct-to-consumer. Each aligner is made from MCS (masterControl S), a proprietary BPA-free, three-layer polymer designed for clarity, strength, and comfort.

Are Angel Aligners the same as Invisalign?

No. Angel Aligners and Invisalign are separate, competing clear aligner systems. Both are FDA-cleared, provider-only treatments, but they use different materials, manufacturing processes, and digital planning platforms. Angel Aligners use MCS polymer; Invisalign uses SmartTrack. Both can treat a wide range of orthodontic conditions, and either may be recommended depending on your case and goals.

Are Angel Aligners better than Invisalign?

Neither system is universally better. The right choice depends on your specific case. Angel Aligners offer faster lab turnaround (about 14 days versus 3 to 5 weeks for Invisalign), built-in auxiliary features like buttons and bite turbos integrated directly into trays, and often more competitive pricing. Invisalign has a longer track record in the US market and wider name recognition. At Smile Pop, we offer both and will recommend whichever system is the better clinical fit for your case.

Are Angel Aligners FDA-cleared?

Yes. Angel Aligners are FDA-cleared for orthodontic use in the United States. They are also BPA-free and latex-free.

How do Angel Aligners work?

Angel Aligners work the same way as other clear aligner systems: a series of custom-made plastic trays gradually shifts your teeth into the desired position. Each tray is slightly different from the last, applying controlled force to move specific teeth. You wear each tray for approximately 7 to 10 days, then advance to the next. Your orthodontist plans the full sequence of movements digitally using the iOrtho 3D treatment planning platform before any trays are manufactured.

Cost, insuranceand FSA

Are Angel Aligners cheaper than Invisalign?

In most cases, yes. Angel Aligners are often priced lower than comparable Invisalign treatment, often without sacrificing clinical outcomes. At Smile Pop, Angel Aligners typically range from $3,200 to $8,500 depending on case complexity. The exact cost depends on the number of trays, the treatment tier (Select 10 through Unlimited), and any attachments or auxiliaries needed.

Does insurance cover Angel Aligners?

Many dental insurance plans include an orthodontic benefit that applies to clear aligners, including Angel Aligners. Coverage typically comes as a lifetime maximum (often $1,000 to $2,000). Some plans are more generous. Check your plan’s orthodontic benefit section and confirm that clear aligners are covered.

We are out of network, which means your plan reimburses you directly rather than paying us. We look up your benefits, help you file, and support you along the way.

Can I use FSA or HSA for Angel Aligners?

Yes. Angel Aligners prescribed by a licensed orthodontic provider are a qualified FSA and HSA expense. Using pre-tax dollars effectively reduces the out-of-pocket cost. Confirm eligibility with your FSA or HSA administrator.

Living with them

How long does Angel Aligners treatment take?

Treatment time varies by case complexity. Mild cases may be complete in 3 to 6 months; moderate cases typically take 9 to 15 months; complex cases can run 18 months or longer. Your orthodontist can give you a projected timeline after reviewing your 3D scan and treatment plan.

How many hours a day do you wear Angel Aligners?

Angel Aligners should be worn 20 to 22 hours per day for optimal results. You remove them to eat, drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss. Consistent wear is what drives tooth movement. Skipping hours slows progress.

How often do you change Angel Aligners trays?

Most patients change to the next tray every 7 to 10 days. Your orthodontist determines the exact schedule based on how quickly your teeth are moving and how well they are tracking. Some patients move faster; some need more time per tray.

How do you clean Angel Aligners?

Rinse your trays with cool water each time you remove them. Brush gently with a soft toothbrush and mild, clear dish soap. Avoid toothpaste, which can scratch the surface. Retainer cleaning tablets also work well for a deeper clean. Do not use hot water, as it can warp the trays. Let them air dry before storing in their case.

Can you eat with Angel Aligners in?

No. Always remove your aligners before eating. Food can crack or warp the trays and trap bacteria against your teeth. You can eat anything you want. Simply take your trays out, eat, brush, and put them back in.

Can you drink with Angel Aligners in?

Water only, while wearing your aligners. Anything else (coffee, tea, juice, soda, alcohol) can stain the trays and create a sugary or acidic environment against your teeth. If you drink something other than water, remove your aligners first.

Do Angel Aligners hurt?

Most patients experience mild pressure or soreness for 1 to 3 days after switching to a new tray. This is a normal sign that the aligners are working. The discomfort is typically mild and fades quickly. The MCS material has a smooth, contoured edge that most patients find comfortable against their gums and cheeks.

What they canactually treat

Can Angel Aligners fix an overbite?

Yes. Angel Aligners can treat overbite, deep bite, underbite, open bite, crossbite, and overjet, in addition to crowding and spacing. More complex bite corrections may require the Pro or Unlimited tier, which supports mandibular advancement and other advanced features. Your orthodontist will determine what is achievable for your specific bite.

What are the product tiers for Angel Aligners?

Angel Aligners offers several treatment tiers. Select 10, Select 20, and Select 30 are designed for mild to moderate cases with roughly 10, 20, or 30 trays respectively. Pro is for moderate-to-complex cases including some extraction cases. Unlimited covers the most complex presentations. There is also a KiDs system for growing patients in mixed dentition. Your orthodontist selects the appropriate tier based on your diagnosis and treatment goals.

Do Angel Aligners use attachments?

Some cases require attachments, the small tooth-colored bumps bonded to teeth that help the aligners grip and apply more precise forces. Angel Aligners uses a system called angelAttach for this. They also offer angelButton (buttons integrated directly into the tray for elastics) and angelHook (hooks built into the tray), which reduce the need for separately bonded composite hardware.

Do I have to bean existing patient?

Not at all. Angel Aligners consultations are open to brand new patients, and they are just as open to people already in treatment somewhere else who want to transfer to Smile Pop. We do not discriminate. 😉
