Before you order: we need your scan

Every retainer here is custom made for your mouth, so we need a current, accurate digital scan before yours can be produced. Scans come to us as an .STL file, and there are two easy ways to get one:

  • At Smile Pop. We will take the digital scan for you. Book your scan here.
  • At your local dentist or orthodontist. Ask their office to take a digital intraoral scan and email the .STL file to us.

Your scan should capture both the upper and lower arches and the bite. For a tongue crib, we also need the full upper palate.

Already have a scan with us? Even better. If we already have your scan on file, just select the “you have my scan on file” option at checkout and we will reorder from it.

One thing to keep in mind. If you have had any recent dental work that changed the anatomy of your teeth substantially, consider getting a new scan so your retainer fits the way it should.
