Before you order
Everything startswith your scan
Every retainer here is made for your mouth specifically, so we need a current, accurate digital scan before yours can be produced. Scans reach us as an .STL file, and there are two easy ways to get one.
At Smile Pop
We take the digital scan for you. No goop, no trays, about ten minutes. Book your scan here.
At your own dentist or orthodontist
Ask their office to take a digital intraoral scan and email us the .STL file. Your scan should capture both arches and your bite, plus the full upper palate for a tongue crib.
Already have a scan with us? Even better. Choose the “you have my scan on file” option at checkout and we will reorder from it. One thing to keep in mind: if you have had recent dental work that changed the anatomy of your teeth substantially, a new scan is worth it so your retainer fits the way itshould.

The things peopleask us most
Do I have to be a Smile Pop patient?
Not at all. New and existing patients are both welcome. If you finished treatment somewhere else, or moved to New York partway through retention, you are in exactly the right place. All we need is a current digital scan.
Is there a limit on replacements inside the program?
No cap. That is the whole idea. For five years from enrollment you can order as many replacements as you need at $75 per arch or $150 for a set.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes. Enrollment and replacements are both eligible for pretax HSA and FSA dollars.
What happens after five years?
You re-enroll, and it works exactly like the first time: another $995, another five years of coverage, and a brand new custom set included. We can make that set from the scan we already have on file, or take a fresh one if your teeth or your dental work have changed since. Entirely your call.
Does the program cover a night guard or a tongue crib?
No. Those are custom appliances with a different job, and they are ordered separately.
My teeth have already moved. Will a retainer fix that?
A retainer is designed to hold teeth where they are, not move them back. If things have shifted and you would like them straightened again, that starts with a consultation. Book one here and we will look at your smile together and talk through what is possible.
What about insurance?
Smile Pop is out of network, but we are happy to look up your benefits and submit the claim on your behalf so any payment comes back to you directly, a bit like a rebate check.
