How Much Does InvisalignCost in NYC?
If you’ve spent any time searching for Invisalign pricing in New York City, you’ve probably noticed that almost no one actually answers the question. Most practices say “call for a consultation” and leave it at that.
We don’t think that’s useful.
Here’s what Invisalign costs at Smile Pop, what factors affect your price, and how to make it work financially — including insurance, payment plans, and FSA/HSA.
Smile Pop’sInvisalign Pricing
| Treatment Type | Who It’s For | Duration | Price Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Comprehensive Invisalign | Crowding, spacing, overbite, underbite, crossbite, open bite — cases requiring full correction | 12–24 months | $3,500–$8,800 |
| Touch-Up Treatment | Minor relapse, limited spacing or crowding, patients who’ve already had braces or Invisalign | 3–5 months | $3,200–$4,200 |
| Single Arch Treatment | Correction limited to upper teeth only or lower teeth only | Varies | Slightly less than dual arch |
The price range reflects the complexity and expected length of your treatment. A case that requires 12 months of movement is simpler to plan and execute than a 22-month case — that difference is reflected in the fee.
What’s Included in Your Invisalign Fee at Smile Pop
- iTero digital scan (no goopy impressions)
- Full treatment planning and ClinCheck design
- Your complete aligner series
- All progress check appointments throughout treatment
- Attachments and interproximal reduction (IPR) as needed
- One round of refinements if clinically indicated
- Retainers at the end of treatment
There are no hidden appointment fees or charges for standard mid-treatment adjustments.
Why the Range? WhatAffects My Invisalign Cost?
The two biggest factors in your Invisalign fee are:
1. Complexity of your case
Mild crowding of a few teeth requires fewer aligners and less clinical planning than a case involving a significant overbite, spacing throughout the arch, and rotated teeth that need attachments. The more complex the case, the more clinical work is involved — and the higher the fee.
2. Length of treatment
Closely related to complexity: cases that require longer treatment generally involve more planning, more aligners, and more appointments. A 12-month case and a 22-month case have meaningfully different clinical demands.
Other factors that can affect price: whether you’re treating one arch or both, whether refinements beyond the standard set are needed, and whether your case is a straightforward touch-up versus comprehensive treatment.
The only way to know exactly where your case falls is a consultation. We’ll scan your teeth, assess your bite, and give you an exact fee before you make any decision.
Insurance, Payment Plans,FSA/HSA, and Discounts
Orthodontic Insurance
Smile Pop is an out-of-network provider. That means we don’t bill your insurance directly, but most patients with orthodontic benefits can still receive a significant reimbursement.
Here’s how it typically works: you pay Smile Pop directly, and your insurance reimburses you according to your plan’s out-of-network orthodontic benefit. Many plans have a lifetime orthodontic maximum — a set dollar amount they’ll cover regardless of provider. Common lifetime maximums range from $1,000 to $2,500, though this varies widely by plan.
The most important thing: we run a full orthodontic benefits check for you before your consultation. Once you fill out your new patient paperwork, we’ll verify your coverage and tell you exactly what your plan includes — so you walk into your consultation already knowing your numbers. No surprises.
Common insurance plans we frequently see: Aetna, Cigna, MetLife, Delta Dental, Guardian, and many others.
In-House Payment Plans
We offer in-house monthly payment plans. You don’t need to go through a third-party lender or qualify for financing — we work with you directly to spread the cost of treatment over time. Payment plans are available for both comprehensive treatment and touch-up cases.
FSA and HSA
Orthodontic treatment — including Invisalign — is an eligible expense for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA). If you have either of these accounts, you can use pre-tax dollars toward your Invisalign treatment, which effectively lowers your real cost by your marginal tax rate.
If you’re planning Invisalign, it’s worth checking your FSA/HSA balance before the end of your plan year, since FSA funds are often “use it or lose it.”
Payment-in-Full Discount
Patients who pay for their full treatment upfront receive a discount. Ask us about the current payment-in-full discount at your consultation.
Is NYC MoreExpensive for Invisalign?
Generally, yes. Orthodontic treatment in New York City reflects the cost structure of operating a specialty practice in one of the most expensive cities in the world. The national average for comprehensive Invisalign treatment is often cited at $3,000–$8,000 depending on the market and provider type; NYC pricing typically falls in the upper portion of that range.
What matters more than geography is who is treating you. Invisalign can be offered by any licensed dentist, including general dentists with minimal orthodontic training. At Smile Pop, your treatment is designed and managed by an orthodontist — a specialist with dedicated post-doctoral training in tooth movement and bite correction. The clinical rigor behind your treatment plan makes a real difference in the quality and stability of your results.
A Note on Groupons, DentalSchools, and Budget Providers
You’ll find Invisalign advertised at lower price points in New York City, sometimes significantly lower. A few things worth knowing:
Dental schools: Dental schools in NYC offer orthodontic treatment at reduced fees. Treatment is supervised, but it’s performed by students in training, which typically means longer appointments and longer overall treatment times. This can be a legitimate option if budget is the primary concern and you’re not in a hurry.
Groupon and deep-discount deals: Be cautious. Deeply discounted Invisalign is often offered by general dentists who are doing Invisalign as an add-on service, not as a specialist. Invisalign is not a product you put in and walk away from — it requires careful monitoring and mid-course correction. The “deal” upfront can become expensive if the result isn’t what you expected and requires additional work to fix.
What Smile Pop’s pricing reflects: The expertise of an orthodontist, not a general dentist. The iTero scanner and full ClinCheck treatment planning. Included refinements and retainers. An experience that is thoughtfully designed from the first visit to the last.
